Razer Blade 14 (2022) Laptop Review: Form A to Z

Very portable and light, the Razer Blade 14 (2022) is a gaming laptop. The Razer Blade 15 and Razer Blade 17 are the other two models in the series, and this one is the smallest. The AMD Ryzen 5900HX CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, 3070, or 3080 GPU replace the Razer Blade 14 from 2021. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU choice and the same display options as the 2022 model are both carried over. However, Razer updated the RTX 3070 and 3080 with the 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti and upgraded the CPU to the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX with DDR5 memory. In direct competition with the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is the Razer Blade 14. (2022).
Our Razer Blade 14 boasts a discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU, an AMD Ryen 9 6900HX Processor, 16GB of memory, and 1TB of storage. Only three pre-determined combinations are available from Razer. The base model comes with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 and a 1080p 144Hz monitor. The other two variants are equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or 3080 Ti and a 1440p 165Hz monitor. The configuration of the Processor, memory, and storage is the same across all three variants. The TGP (Total Graphics Power) of all three GPUs is 100W.
Differences Between Sizes And Variants
Using an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti discrete GPU, 16GB of memory, and 1TB of storage, we tested the Razer Blade 14 2022 (model RZ09-0427). Three predetermined configurations of the Razer Blade 14 are offered; the table below lists them.
Only the setup we evaluated has the validity of our display and performance results. We’ll update it if you find a different configuration option that isn’t mentioned above or if you have a Razer Blade 14 that differs from the one we reviewed. Certain tests, such color accuracy and black uniformity, can differ between different units.
Compared To Other Laptops
One of the top 14-inch gaming laptops available is the Razer Blade 14. Compared to its direct competitor, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2022), the Blade 14 has a sturdier and more premium build, and it’s available with a faster 165Hz display and more powerful GPUs to deliver smoother gameplay.

DESIGN
Style
The Razer Blade 14 2022 boasts a simple, contemporary look with a modern, minimalist gaming aesthetic. Save for the illuminated Razer branding on the lid, it wouldn’t appear out of place in a formal office setting. It has a keyboard with RGB backlighting and an all-black anodized aluminum chassis with upfiring speakers. The laptop’s bottom has large rubber feet as well as vents.
Build Quality
The Razer Blade 14 is superbly constructed. There are no evident structural defects, and the chassis is made entirely of aluminum. The keyboard deck doesn’t move much, but the display does. Although the coating is somewhat scratch-resistant, it attracts fingerprints very well, so you’ll need to wipe it down frequently to keep it clean. Although the general construction is extremely similar to an Apple MacBook, it doesn’t feel as high-end.
Serviceability
The Razer Blade 14 can be repaired rather easily. Since only 10 T5 Torx screws need to be removed before the bottom panel is removed, accessing the internals is simple. Regrettably, users cannot update the memory. The manufacturer’s warranty can be void if you open the laptop and make hardware changes.

RAZER BLADE 14: BATTERY LIFE
The Razer Blade 14 performed admirably in our battery life tests, given that its 61.6Whr battery is less than those seen in many gaming laptops. Almost eight hours of battery life were obtained when playing a looped film at 50% brightness, which is not bad at all given the potent internal technology.
You’ll need to turn off the RGB lighting and reduce the brightness from its highest setting if you want to game while you’re on the road, but you should be able to get up to 4 hours of gaming time from a full charge. The Blade 14 loses one point since Razer still insists on utilizing a proprietary charging connector even though the provided AC converter isn’t overly big and charges the laptop quite quickly.
Conclude
You require a portable, powerful laptop.
This might be your best (read: only) option right now if you want an RTX 3070 or better but don’t want a screen larger than 14 inches. The Razer Blade 14 excels at packing top-tier performance into a small chassis.
You enjoy a silent gaming laptop.
The Blade 14 is surprisingly quiet considering its powerful components; during resource-intensive tasks, the fans barely increase to a light hum. Although it can become a little heated, we never have to worry about performance limiting.
You desire to work and play.
The most recent Blade 14 may easily serve as both a content creation platform and an excellent gaming device thanks to its stunning display, respectable battery life, and powerful internals.
